Round 2: Black Friday Shopping Frenzy

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - It was round 2 for shoppers looking for early holiday discounts.

At the Sawgrass Mills mall in Sunrise, some people loaded up bags and suitcases with deals they said were just too good to pass up.

"We love the chaos, it gets you in the sprit," said Clara Clift.

"We try to beat everybody before the sales, before the products run out," said Jedon Williams. "It's the best time of year to go shopping. That's when most the high priced items get marked down."

The lines to get into some of the high ends stores didnt phase bargain hunters determined to score discounted designer duds.

"I'm waiting in line at Gucci to get whatever I can get. Fifty (percent) off shoes and bags sounds good to me," said Angela Kenton.

The race to the racks began Thursday night when the mall opened at 6 p.m.

Some shoppers started while it was still dark out Friday morning.

"Every year were here before the sun comes up," said Lauren Morrison.

Herisha Bentley said she arrived around 2 a.m. and planned to shop til she dropped. She wasn't alone.

"I'm sleep walking right now but once I get home and I unwrap everything I think I'll know that everything was all right that it was worth it," said Rob Bently.

For some, Black Friday bargain hunting is a holiday tradition that never seems to go out of style.

"One day of the year that's absolutely insane but it's worth it and you get a lot of good deals," said Lauren Morrison.

The National Retail Federation forecasts holiday sales reach almost $617 billion, an increase of 4.1 percent which will be the biggest jump since 2011.
