TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/AP)— Now is the time to grab your lifetime hunting or fishing license. Gov. Rick Scott has ordered a drop in the cost for these state licenses.

It does come with a catch. Qualifying licensees must be state residents, 21 years old or younger, and the offer only last for a limited time.

Scott on Thursday ordered the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to lower the cost of a "lifetime sportsman's license" to $500 for young people. It currently costs $1001 for anyone 13 and older.

The fee drop is available from Nov. 24 to Dec. 31.

A Florida resident who buys the license can use it for hunting as well as both freshwater and saltwater fishing.

Scott said he was ordering the fee drop to encourage young people to spend time outdoors with their families.
