MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police officers are trying to figure out who stole thousands of dollars of tools at a construction business. The crime was caught on surveillance video.

Investigators said three men got into Tinez Construction at 4725 SW 74th Avenue just before 12:30 a.m. on October 19.

The subjects entered through the front door.

Jessica Martinez, with Tinez Construction,  said the men were inside the warehouse for half an hour even though the alarm went off.

"They took probably over $15,000 in tools and equipment," said Martinez.

By the time police arrived they were gone, but plenty of images were left behind.  Surveillance video shows the men making several trips, carrying armfuls of equipment outside the door.  At one point they backed a van up to the door and started loading it up, filling the van with tools.

The family-owned business is still trying to replace the stolen tools.

"It's what we use every day to work so it took us a little bit to start gathering equipment back together," explained Martinez.

Tinez construction marks all of its tools with orange paint so they'll be easier to recognize if someone tries to use or sell them.  Jessica hopes that  will help her get the tools back and she hopes the surveillance video will help too.

She's asking anyone with information to contact police. "If they recognize the car or the men if they would just come forward and do the right thing," she said, "I just hope that they're able to catch them so it doesn't happen to another family."

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
