Deputies said the young man and woman walked into the store just before 8:00 p.m. and asked for two cartons of cigarettes.

When the clerk asked the man for id, deputies said the robber pointed a gun at him then pushed the clerk backwards, threw a black backpack at his feet and demanded him to put money in it.

The two took the backpack with money and two cartons of cigarettes before getting away, according to deputies.

"These two young individuals and they messed up the rest of their lives. If they get caught, the way that the laws are in Florida, people do time," said Tom Thumb Regional Manager Cleveland Mathis
