BSO: Bar Fight Ends In Gunfire In Parking Lot

NORTH LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Broward Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of a North Lauderdale sports bar and left a man injured.

Detectives with the Broward Sheriff's Office said the parking lot at the Players Sports Bar and Grill turned into a wild chaotic scene on September 13th and the search is on for the shooter and his accomplice.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said the victim, Terrance McClendon, tried to make room for people to pass by when he accidentally bumped up against two men. BSO said that started a fight and the men beat on McClendon.

Employees of the bar escorted the two men out and a witness said once the victim walked outside, one of the men was waiting for him and chased him around the parking lot, firing several shots until one bullet struck the victim in the back.

CBS4's Carey Codd spoke with a man who witnessed the entire episode but did not want to reveal his identity. He said the victim clearly lost the fight inside the bar but the two men did not let it go.

"He lost," the witness told Codd. "He's laid out. There's no need to do anything else. It was senseless to even come back and shoot the man."

BSO wants to find these two men. Detectives said the shooter jumped into a car with his accomplice and sped off.

The witness said anyone this violent needs to be taken off the streets.

"If they'll do this so easily and so simple for something so minor, I can just imagine what they'll do just for anything," the witness said.

Sources said the victim underwent surgery and is recovering.
