Ray Rice's Wife Takes To Social Media, Defends Husband

BALTIMORE (CBSMiami) – One day after Ray Rice lost his job with the Baltimore Ravens and was suspended indefinitely by the NFL, his wife Janay Palmer is once again standing by his side.

The last time she spoke about the incident that took place in an Atlantic City hotel, where video showed Rice striking her in the face, she apologized for her role in the incident.

This time she has taken to social media, posting a message on her private Instagram account defending her husband and harshly criticizing the media.

"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," she wrote in the Instagram post. "But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted opinions from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret everyday is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass off for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"

It appears that Palmer is going to stand by her husband's side throughout this ordeal and doesn't want to relive the assault that took place in February.

Unfortunately for her, that is not going to be the case.  The video footage of Rice and Palmer in that Atlantic City casino elevator has been on virtually every news outlet, sports or otherwise, and will continue to be a big story regardless of how it makes the couple feel.
