Body Of Missing 9-Year Old Found In Bay

MIAMI (CBSMiami)-- Police found the dead body of a 9-year old girl who went missing near Tampa.

Temple Terrace Police said boaters  found the body of Felecia Williams floating in the bay off Courtney Campbell Causeway in Clearwater around 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 18th.

The Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office released the results of an autopsy Sunday, May 18th confirming it was Williams' body that was found.

Her family received the devastating news.

There was shouting, tears, and parents hugging their children tighter after hearing Tampa and Temple Terrace Police tell them Felecia Williams, known as sugar plum, was found dead.

"Sugar Plum is sweet. She's lovable. She's joyful. Why would anyone want to hurt her," said her stepfather Calvin Holder. He  is one of dozens of family members and friends who rushed to Felecia's home.

The Temple Terrace Police Department is classifying the case as a homicide.

According to police,Williams went missing Friday, May 16th. She was visiting a  family friend,  Eboni Alicia Wiley, 23 , at the Doral Oaks apartment complex in Temple Terrace when she disappeared between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., according to police. Wiley said Felecia vanished when she was in the shower.

Police arrested Wiley on Saturday, May 17th in connection to the case, for allegedly providing false information to police during the investigation. She bonded out of jail early Sunday morning.

Detectives said they are investigating several leads.
