Summer Beauty Trends Are Quite Colorful

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The coolest trends for summer beauty when it comes to hair and makeup is color!

"Color, color impact," said stylist Chip. "It's not for the meek and mild. It's for the bold."

Bold and beautiful said Scott Alan of his namesake hair studio in Aventura. Alan said women are thinking outside the box for looks this summer.

"They're changing it up compared to where they used to be. They are using more color. They are doing things like putting a little bit of lavender in tight haircuts. It's a bit of a Miley Cyrus influence of fun," he explained.

In order to jazz up his client Akiko's dark hair, Chip used purple clip-on hair extensions, made from real hair. He said it adds a zip into her hair color without being permanent.

"You can do more, you can do less. She's not married to them. She can put them in a drawer at night and call it a day," he said.

Stylist Jamie wound a purple extension on her black hair to make a summer fun bun.

Customer Aurelis went for a bold candy colored retro look with bended soft waves while customer Stephanie got a textured,

cropped and multi colored look.

But not everyone will go "color crazy" this summer. Scott said blonds can go a bit brighter with adding more natural looking highlights and soft waves.

Stylist Jessica created a beachy blond look on a model with long blond hair by manipulating a flat iron with a special bending technique.

Men can go for a retro look with smooth, short and parted hair, done with a sculpting crème.

Nails run the color rainbow from strong colors to soft pastels.

Makeup is bold, giving a summer splash to the eyes with a bright turquoise on lids of fair skinned women while women of color can go all out in a bright tangerine lip.
