In honor of that, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department is participating in the first national texting enforcement crackdown from April 10th to April 15th.

Those driving are reminded to think twice about driving and texting.

The department is said to be using a combination of traditional and innovative strategies to crack down on those caught texting while driving.

The crackdown is part of the national “U Drive. U Text. U Pay,” campaign which combines awareness and education with intense enforcement of anti-texting laws .
