Pompano Beach Man Killed In Lauderdale Motorcycle Crash

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A Pompano Beach man died after a his motorcycle hit a car on SE 17th Street in Ft. Lauderdale.

The accident happened Sunday night around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of SE 17th Street and SE 15th Avenue.

Roberto Novaes, 34, was heading west on SE 17th Street in the center lane when he struck an Acura which was attempting to make a left turn on SE 15th Street.

Novaes was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced deceased.

Investigators do not suspect alcohol played a role in the crash.

Charges are pending further investigation.
