Barricaded Man Surrenders To Police In NW Dade

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police and one of the department's Special Response Teams proceeded with caution after an armed man barricaded himself inside a home in the northwest section of the county.

Just before noon, they were able to convince the man, identified as 33-year old Darrell Hanna, to surrender.  Hanna came out of the house with his hands raised as police moved in to take him into custody.

Thursday morning Miami-Dade officers were sent to 110th Street and NW 17th Avenue after receiving reports of a man shooting into the air.

Arriving officers discovered that Hanna had fired several shots outside a home at 11050 NW 17th Avenue then ran inside, according to police. He let everyone inside the residence leave before closed and locked the doors.

Police said they don't know if the Hanna lives in the home or not.

Hanna faces a number of charges including making threats against law enforcement officers.
