MIAMI (CBSMiami) – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio did his civic duty Wednesday and showed up for jury duty at the Miami-Dade County Courthouse. But, Rubio won’t be sitting on any jury as he was dismissed with about a dozen other jurors.
Senator Rubio confirmed late Tuesday that he was returning to Miami to show up for jury duty. His appearance at the courthouse Wednesday morning created quite a buzz.
Rubio talked with other jurors and even after he was escorted by police to his car, he stuck around and answered some question from the media.
The junior Florida senator said that as he tries to get back to Washington Wednesday, his priorities remain the crises in the Crimea and in Venezuela.
