School Principal Arrested For Rape

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) --  Detectives arrested a  Pompano Beach principal accused of raping a female employee back in October.

Peter Nicholson, 55, of Coral Springs was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of sexual assault.

Deputies said the victim was raped on Saturday, October 26th  but reported the incident on February 21st.

She said she was afraid she would lose her job if she tried to fight Nicholson or reported the rape.

Nicholson and the victim were at the Flagler High School around 1:00 p.m. when he allegedly approached her and made advances.

She told him to repeatedly stop but he forcibly took off her clothes and raped her against her will, according to deputies.

Nicholson later allegedly apologized to the victim for abusing his authority.

According to deputies, while Nicholson was in custody, he would not speak to detectives. He has since bonded out.

In a statement, Accelerated Learning Solutions, Inc, (ALS ), the management company that runs Flagler High School, said, "The allegation is solely by one adult employee against another. It does not involve any students. ALS is conducting a full internal investigation. Pending the investigation, both employees have been placed on administrative leave with pay. ALS will fully cooperate with law enforcement in the event they conduct an investigation. The Assistant Principal has been placed in charge of the school. The school will continue providing educational services to its students and operating in its usual fashion."
