Port Everglades Crash Suspect In Court
MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Broward Sheriff's Deputies arrested Lawton Cohen, 52, Thursday after witnesses said he crashed a car through a Port Everglades checkpoint.
According to deputies, Cohen decided not to stop at the checkpoint and drove straight through.
In the process the car also hit a BSO unit. The deputy in the unit was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Cohen was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, fleeing police, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Jail documents list Cohen's bond at a little more than $90,000.00 for all of the charges.
