Deadly School Shooting In Parkland COMPLETE COVERAGEPHOTOS

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Miami-Dade Police officers with the assistance of Police Explorers and local volunteers helped sort out more than 1,000 toys Saturday in preparation for the department’s Midwest District Annual Toy Drive.

Toys ranging for ages from newborn to 12 years of age were collected during the drive from various schools within the district.

On Saturday, the group  sorted the toys by age and gender in preparation for distribution next week.

Toys will be distributed by officers in the coming week to pre-identified needy children within the district’s communities.
