Big Screen Bandits Strike Two Pompano Beach Businesses

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – The hunt is on for a couple of guys who have a thing for flat screen televisions.

Unfortunately, the televisions didn't belong to them.

Two Pompano Beach businesses were broken into just days apart, their big screen TVs taken.

On Nov. 25th, around 8:45 p.m., two men smashed in the glass front door of the Excel Barber Shop at 1941 N Dixie Highway. Surveillance cameras captured them check out the front of the store first. One of the men was wearing a red mask as he looked inside the shop. The other person, wearing a red hoodie, walked past his partner to make sure the coast was clear.

The two briefly walk away, then the masked man returns and repeatedly throws a rock at the glass front door until it shatters.

Once inside the business, surveillance cameras captured them ripping two flat screens from the walls and smashing the shops mirrors.

Three days later they struck again, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

In the early morning hours of Nov. 28th, three unidentified men were caught on camera stealing eight flat screen televisions from the Bru's Room restaurant at 235 S Federal Highway. The restaurant's cameras also captured an older model light-colored pick-up truck which investigators believe was driven by one of the men during the burglary.

Anyone with information on the burglaries is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
