MDPD Search For Knife-Wielding Man Accused Of Robbing Grocery Stores

Miami (CBSMiami) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man accused of robbing grocery stores in Miami-Dade county last month.

According to police,Ulysses Gilbert, 21, walked into a grocery store located on 11607 S.W. 216th Street on November 15 and jumped over the counter and demanded money, while holding two employees at knife-point. Gilbert allegedly got away with approximately $2,000, according to police.

One of the employees suffered a deep puncture wound as a result of the incident. She was treated on the scene.

One November 16, police say Gilbert  entered the same grocery store, jumped over the counter,armed with a knife and demanded money. A physical altercation ensued between the him and the employee.The Gilbert allegedly cut the employee multiple times before grabbing an unknown amount of cash from the register and running out. The injured employee was later airlifted to the Kendall Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

Police also believe he may be responsible for another armed robbery in Miami-Dade County. They still do not know of his whereabouts.
