Palmetto Expressway Closure Postponed
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Friday's planned closure of the Palmetto Expressway was postponed.
According to the Department of Transportation, the shutdown may take place tomorrow
If that happens, then North and Southbound lanes will be closed for construction from Northwest 25th Street to 36th Street.
The SR 826 will be closed northbound and southbound from Northwest 25th Street to 36th Street from 10 p.m. until 8 a.m.
The closures, according to the Florida Department of Transportation, are necessary to allow the contractor to erect support beams over the entire SR 826 at NW 25 Street.
The project was put in place to create a new ramp for cargo trucks to use in hopes of alleviating the always-gridlocked Northwest 25th Street.
