Two Dead, Third Critical In North Dade Shooting

MIAMI (CBS4) – Miami-Dade police crime scene investigators spent Wednesday afternoon collecting evidence from two homes after two men were killed and a third person was found fatally shot in a car.

One shooting happened along NW 36th Place near 106th Street. After receiving reports of shots fired, arriving officers found one man dead from a gunshot inside a home. A couple blocks away they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds at another home.

"Unfortunately one person died at the hospital," said police spokesman Det. Alvaro Zabaleta. "The other is in critical but stable condition."

Investigators said a man known to the people who were shot approached them around 12:30 p.m. as they sat outside on the front porch. During a dispute, the man pulled out a gun and started shooting. He struck two men and barely missing a third.

Investigators said the armed man then drove off.

"I heard the gunshots," said witness Armando Almaguer.

Almaguer said the the neighborhood is typically quiet. He said he to see what was going on as soon as he heard what had happened. He believes the man who shot the others was his uncle.

A man who claims he was related to the shooter said he arrived at the scene as soon as he heard what happened.

"He was a marvelous person," Ramon Yanes said of his uncle.

Yanes said had no clue as to what would cause him to snap.

Police are investigating whether the body found in a car in a field at SW 167th Avenue and 152nd Street was their suspected shooter.
