Search Continues For Missing South Florida Woman

PALM BEACH GARDENS -- There is a $1,000 reward for information about a missing South Florida woman. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's office is searching for 49-year old Kimberly Lindsey. The middle school nurse hasn't been heard from since Sunday night.

Crime scene investigators with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office remained at Lindsey's home into the late hours Thursday night, but they wouldn't tell CBS4's Carey Codd exactly what they were looking for.

Lindsey was last seen on Sunday after returning from a visit with one of her daughter's on Florida's west coast.

"None of us ever thought this would happen nobody ever does think it will happen but when it does it hits you so hard," said Lindsey's oldest daughter Sarah Lambert said at news conference Thursday.

Investigators said that a co-worker alerted authorities when the mother of three didn't show up for work at Bak Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach Monday morning.

Lindsey was last heard from Sunday night when she sent her daughter a text message letting her know she had just returned from out of town.

No one has heard from her since that text message.

"Our mom is a self-made independent woman and she is the most nurturing, loving, giving woman that I've ever met in my life. Everyone that meets her aspires to be more like her," said Sarah.

Authorities called her disappearance "suspicious."   Investigators combed a heavily wooded property with K-9's and a helicopters. Divers also searched a pond outside the Palm Beach Country Estates home Wednesday morning.

Lindsey has three daughters: Sarah, 20; Sofia, 18; and Savannah, 16. She was married to the girls' father Albert Lambert from May 1991 until they divorced in February.

Lindsey's co-worker, Roberta Azrak, said Lindsey had just finalized a contentious divorce from her husband, an ER doctor in Broward County.

"There was many, many days of her being distraught over the situation that could have been dealt with amicably and she tried," said Azrak.

There is now a Facebook page called "Find Kim Lindsey" with pictures of her. There's also a picture of a green shirt that Lindsey was last seen wearing.  The shirt has "Explore, Dream, Discover" written on the back of it.

Lindsey is 5-foot-10, 140 pounds with blond hair and green eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (561) 688-3400 or the nearest law enforcement agency.

Tipsters with information can also call 800-458-TIPS (4577) and be eligible for the reward.
