MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Nearly 200,000 absentee ballots will be going out in the mail Tuesday for the upcoming Special Election in Miami-Dade.
Voters can expect to receive their ballot on Wednesday or Thursday.
On the ballot, voters are being asked if they approve of funding for the modernization and improvement of the Jackson Health System through issuance of General Obligation Bonds. In addition, voters residing in the cities of Hialeah, Homestead, Miami, and Miami Beach will have the opportunity to vote on their municipal races and questions.

Voters who wish to participate in this election via absentee ballot have until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30th, to submit their request online, by email or by telephone.
Completed absentee ballots must be received by the county’s election department by Tuesday, November 5th, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. to be accepted as valid.
Voters are reminded to sign inside the red box on the outside of the absentee ballot envelope before returning it. Also, postage is no longer necessary.
