Police Looking For Suspect In Fatal Miami Gardens Shooting

MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – Just before 5:30 Saturday evening, in front of Buccaneer Park where children were playing, a brazen shooter opened fire killing a man.

Selina Woods, a resident, says, "It need to stop. So you know they got a lot of kids out here so..."

The shooting occurred in front of the Quick Stop mini-mart on NW 207th Street and 32nd Avenue.  When police arrived,  the victim believed to be 19 or 20-years-old, was already dead.

Police contained the area- and scoured the parking lot looking for evidence.

"I don't know, it just aint right so I don't know", said Woods.

The most obvious evidence--gun casings.   Each orange  cone on the scene represents one, CBS4's Jamie Guirola counted at least 14.

"Yeah because you don't know your kid could have been out here too though," said Woods.

Residents and the victim's family members watched as Miami Gardens Police investigated and as the victim's body was taken away, serving as an unfortunate reminder of a crime they say happens way too often in Miami Gardens.

Police are asking for the public's help with this investigation. If you have any information call Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS.  There could be up to a $3,000 reward.
