MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A pedestrian at the intersection of Northwest 7th avenue and 20th Street, was struck by a car and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The victim, described as an adult male, was struck by a driver, who remained on scene, around 7 p.m.
The pedestrian was transported, according to City of Miami Fire Rescue, to Ryder Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
The uninjured driver of the car, according to authorities, failed a roadside sobriety test and was taken into custody.
Miami Police Department Traffic Homicide shut down 20th street to 19th street on 7th avenue temporarily to investigate.
