Man Gets 3 Life Terms After Rejecting Plea Deal For Only 15 Years

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) –  A man who is considered a habitual armed robber has been sentenced to three life terms in prison.

The crime spree for Breon Davis, 24, began in 2008 when he was charged with multiple armed robberies by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department Violent Crimes Unit.

While on probation, police said Davis committed another armed robbery in May, 2011 and charged for the crime.

After being released in 2012, police arrested Davis on a probation violation and on another occasion was arrested for giving a false name to a police officer.

At a sentencing hearing August 29, Judge Backman sentenced Davis to three life terms in prison after Davis turned down a plea deal that would have given him just 15 years in prison.
