Fins Add Fmr. Philadelphia Eagles Guard Danny Watkins

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The Miami Dolphins continued to churn the roster Tuesday morning ahead of Week 1's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Seeking to add depth to the offensive line, the Dolphins signed former first-round pick guard Danny Watkins. The former Philadelphia Eagle was considered a bust after being drafted in the first round.

Watkins' signing was a low-risk, high-reward signing for the Dolphins. If he can finally start to get his game straightened out and find his desire again, he could be a gem for the Fins.

If he flames out, he'll be released at some point in the season and the Fins didn't lose much of an investment on him.

Watkins played his college ball at Baylor and was also a firefighter.

To make room for Watkins, the Dolphins waived guard Josh Samuda.
