RIP

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Land of Oz has lost another munchkin.

Actress Margaret Pellegrini, who played the “Flower Pot” Munchkin in the 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz”, died Wednesday August 7th at her Phoenix, Arizona home. She was 89.

Pellegrini was only 15 years old when the film was made, making her among the youngest of the 124 actors who played Munchkins.

In addition to being cast as the “Flower Pot” Munchkin, Pellegrini also played one of the sleepy head kids in the classic film.

With Pellegrini’s death, there are now only two surviving “munchkins” from the film. They are Jerry Maren, 93, the Lollipop Kid, and Ruth Duccini, 95, who played an uncredited munchkin villager.
