Marlins Pitcher Heads To Disabled List

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - Miami Marlins starting pitcher Kevin Slowey will be out of the rotation for at least a month after straining a muscle in his right forearm.

The injury was confirmed by an MRI on Monday.

Slowey originally felt some discomfort while warming up for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Based on Slowey's timetable for recovery, it's possible he's out for the remainder of the season.

The Marlins will not miss Slowey's production that much as he's gone 3-6 with a 4.11 ERA in 20 appearances this season.
