Suspects Arrested Hours After Orlando Police Shot During Traffic Stop

ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) – A police officer in Orlando, after pulling over a reckless driver, was shot. Authorities, after hours of looking for the suspects, now say they have arrested the two suspected gunmen.

Officer Jason Hajek, 25, pulled over the vehicle early Tuesday morning in Orlando.

After pulling over the vehicle, according to Orlando police, the suspects got out of the car, shot Officer Hajek, and fled on foot.

Hours after the shooting, the two suspects were taken into custody.

Police say Hajek was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. He came out of surgery at 6 a.m., but there is no update on his condition.

Hajek returned fire and was able to call for help. He also gave dispatchers a description of the suspects.

Officers from a number of agencies are looking for the suspects in the Orlando area. Several roads in the area are closed as the search continues.
