Miracle Pooch Survives Wild Ride Around S. Florida

DANIA BEACH (CBS4) – A dog went on a wild ride, Thursday, when it got trapped under the hood of a vehicle and traveled for several miles.

The dog is okay and rescue officials said it has "hardly a scratch."

Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue units responded to 218 Southeast 5th Street in Dania Beach.

That is where officers found the dog caught between the steering mechanism and the axle of the car.

It is not clear yet how the dog managed to get into the car and trapped.

According to fire rescue personnel the dog traveled under the car's hood all the way from Hallandale Beach to Dania Beach which is approximately five miles on the map.

The couple inside the car said whimpering could be heard when they arrived at their home in Dania Beach.

The little dog is now at a Hollywood animal hospital.
