OAKLAND PARK (CBS4) -  The stepfather of two Oakland Park children was arrested after a 13 year old boy allegedly got a hold of his gun and shot his little sister.

Hary Charles, 27, is charged with culpable negligence for allegedly leaving a gun and ammunition in a place accessible to children.

The incident happened on May 4th while the teen and his 6 year old sister were alone in the home on the 5000 block NW 2nd Terrace.

The report states the boy ran to a neighbor's home for help. The neighbor called 911 after seeing the injuries to the girl

The girl was transported to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition.
