Fans Flock To Stores For Championship Merchandise

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Moments after the Miami Heat won the NBA National Championship, fans packed stores across South Florida to get their hands on championship gear.

Dozens of customers showed up just before 6 a.m. at the Sports Authority in Midtown Miami in order to be some of the first to don White Hot championship merchandise.

The Sports Authority was pretty much wiped out of merchandise immediately after the game.

"I was at home and I called and they were open and I drove like a mad woman to get here but I am here. I got my shirt and I got my cap," exclaimed fan Adela Brown.

Heat fans even brought in their pots and pans and partied inside the store in Midtown just minutes after the big win.

Diehards picked up piles of shirts and stocked up on Heat hats. Many had no spending limit and the gear sold fast.

"This is what we have been working for the whole season long. I'm happy. I hope all them so-called bandwagon jumper heat fan, I hope ya'll bounce off because this is what it's about, stand behind your team no matter what. Don't fall off. Go Heat," said Ed Horton.

The Midtown Sports Authority closed for a few hours and reopened at 6:00 a.m.

New shipments of Heat Championship merchandise will be arriving Friday.
