Key Largo Is Calling All "Bogey" Fans

KEY LARGO (CBSMiami/FKNB) – Fans of film legend Humphrey Bogart are invited to delight in four days of all-things-Bogey.

The inaugural Humphrey Bogart Film Festival will take place in Key Largo from May 2nd through Sunday May 5th.

The festival's signature event, the Bogart Ball, will take place at the Hilton Key Largo Resort on Saturday. Guests are encouraged to dress up like characters from their favorite films of the era.

At the ball, Jack Huston, star of HBO's hit show "Boardwalk Empire," will be in attendance to accept an award recognizing the partnership between his grandfather and Bogart.

Sixty-five years ago, Bogart starred in "Key Largo" with Lauren Bacall - who at the time was his wife.

This year's event will be hosted Bogey & Bacall's son, Stephen Bogart, alongside guest host, the noted film critic Leonard Maltin.

Festivalgoers can enjoy screenings, both indoor and outdoor, of Bogart films and other films of the film noir genre. Also available to guests, a cruise on the century-old African Queen from the movie of the same name.  The boat, which is registered as a national historic site, underwent a $70,000 restoration in 2012.
