Man Dies After Shooting Outside Hollywood Apartment Building

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – A young man died early Saturday after being shot outside an apartment building, police said.

Police responded to the 2800 block of Fillmore Street about 3 a.m. after several 911 calls reporting gunshots, police spokeswoman Lt. Nikki Coffin told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Paramedics found Richard Biennestin, 20, outside an apartment. They rushed him to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he died from his wounds, she said.

Coffin did not know how many times Biennestin was shot. “It’s an active investigation,” she said.

Police are trying to determine whether Biennestin lived at the apartment near where his body was found.
