MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Nearly two million South Florida students will soon be picking up their #2 pencils to take the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test, otherwise known as the FCAT. But before the test, it’s important to give your children a healthy, well-balanced breakfast and McDonald’s has decided to help out.

For the fourth year in a row, participating McDonald’s restaurants in Florida will serve a free breakfast to students taking the FCAT on Monday, April 15th.

Breakfast consists of an Egg McMuffin, apple slices, and a milk or small orange juice. This offer is for students under 15 years old and in grades 3 to 11. The free breakfast will be served from 6:00 – 8:30 a.m. Kids must be accompanied by a parent. Child must be present to receive offer.

New this year, teachers can get the free breakfast as well in Miami-Dade and Broward counties with valid I.D.

The program was created to ensure children start off their test day with a nutritious meal.

If parents can’t bring their children to McDonald’s, many schools serve free breakfast the morning of the FCATs. Parents can check with their child’s school to see if a free breakfast is offered.
