CORAL GABLES (CBS4) – Celebration was in full swing on the University of Miami campus, where students and alumni got together for a watch party at the Rathskeller.
“I love being able to stomp on the other team,” said UM sophomore Sabina Szczepaniz. “Just watching us win is the greatest feeling.”
Eyes glued to the game, fans say the performance was perfection. Being back in the NCAA tournament for first time since 2008, has energized the entire campus.
“When a team is in the dumps no one really wants to go out to watch the game, but when you’re kicking butt it’s very easy to get people to come,” said UM Alumni Ian Chambers.
UM gear has also been selling like crazy on campus ever since the team brought back their ACC championship trophy, setting off a renewed school spirit as fans get one step closer to their dream of taking home a title.
“In all my brackets I have them winning so they gotta keep winning for us,” said Chambers.”
