MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Instead of bacon on your burger, why not have bacon in it?
Among Burger King’s new slew of seasonal menu offerings: the bacon cheddar stuffed burger.
“The King” stuffs a beef patty with hardwood smoked bacon and cheddar cheese. Bonus: this creates more room for the vegetables (or fried onion rings).
The Miami-based fast food chain’s other limited time, seasonal offerings include four sandwiches, a wrap, a side, a dessert and drinks – 12 new offerings in total.
The limited-time-only “Burger Fest” menu includes the following:
• Those tired of the fire-grilled beef patties will have several other options this spring with the new turkey burger ($3.99). For those who skip meat all together, the veggie burger (Retail: $2.99). The turkey burger is topped with lettuce, sliced tomatoes, red onions and mayo on an artisan-style bun. Vegetarians can pick up a MorningStar Farms garden veggie patty with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, ketchup and mayor on a sesame seed bun.
• Two new additions to the menu include the chipotle Whopper sandwich ($4.29) and the Chipotle chicken sandwich ($4.79) and chipotle chicken wrap ($2.99). The Whopper sandwich is also available as a Whopper Jr. ($2.49).
• Some other bite-sized snacks include loaded tater tots (starting at $1.99), which are stuffed with bacon and sweet onions – available in eight-, 10- or 12-piece servings. Also added are glazed donut holes ($1.49) that can go with the restaurant’s $1 coffee promotion this week.
• On the drink menu, Burger King added a peach iced tea ($1.59) to its selection and a piña colada smoothie ($2.29).
