Dade Police Investigate Two Shootings, One Deadly

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Police are trying to determine if separate two shootings blocks away from each other in one Miami-Dade neighborhood are connected.

Sunday afternoon officers sent to check out reports of gunfire in the area of NW 16th Street and NW 18th Avenue.

"When I heard the shots I looked out and then you know they just kept shooting so I got undercover," said one person who saw it happen  and didn't want to be identified in this report. "I was scared because I didn't know where the bullets was coming from."

When officers arrived they found a 24-year old man had been shot to death.

"One guy got out of the car, they had shot him from the car, and he got out of the car and shot him down, just shot him five more time," said the witness."I don't like it, I really don't like it."

After talking to witnesses, police said they were looking for a white van with dark tints with four men inside. The men were reportedly armed with assault rifles.

A short time later, there were reports of gunfire at 2520 NW 59th Street. When officers arrived, they found a male with a gunshot wound in one of legs. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, no word on his condition.

Police have not released the name of the man who died.
