U.S. Marshals Seek Killer Tattoo Artist On The Run In S. Florida

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – Armed with a white roller bag of dirty tattoo tools, Carl Laventure has been seen on the bus, in a barber shop, and out on the streets of Pompano Beach.

"Nobody should be getting a tattoo from someone like this," said U.S. Deputy Marshal Barry Golden of the unlicensed tattoo artist.

Golden says Laventure is guilty of far more than using unsanitary tools to give tattoos.

"He has convictions for homicide, felon in possession of a firearm, kidnapping", said Golden.

The fugitive has been using the name Danny Warmuth.

Marshals say he raped a woman at knifepoint in Winter Haven.

"He held this knife to her chest, cutting her skin, so, and he stole her vehicle," Golden said.

"Authorities in central Florida and Tampa recovered it, but we haven't found him, " Golden said.

After the attack in January, marshals believe Laventure fled south where he's been spotted on the #42 bus on Atlantic Boulevard.

Marshals have information he was trying to do work, as an unlicensed tattoo artist at a barber shop on Atlantic.

Golden said, "He's already, according to one interview we conducted, spread a case of MRSA to someone he gave a tattoo to, so obviously he's using dirty equipment to give tattoos".

Marshals also said they have information Laventure is a heroine junkie, trying to scrape together money to feed his habit.

If you can help lead the U.S. marshals to this fugitive in Broward County, call their command center at 877-WANTED-2.
