SW Florida Woman Injured In Crash Involving FHP Trooper

FORT MYERS (CBSMiami/AP) – An accident involving a Florida Highway Patrol trooper on I-75 critically injured a southwest Florida woman.

FHP officials said Trooper Gustavo Reyes was headed south on the highway Friday night when he struck the back of the Jeep. The Jeep overturned, ejecting driver 29-year-old Christopher McClure and passenger 28-year-old Crystal Crawford-McClure.

The passenger was listed in critical condition. The driver received minor injuries.

Authorities said a 1-year-old child who was also in the Jeep was no injured.

The accident is under investigation.
