MIAMI (CBSMiami) – On your mark, get set, race! CBS’s multi-Emmy award-winning reality series “The Amazing Race” is back starting Sunday night with the premiere of its 22nd season.
Eleven new teams will embark on a sprint around the globe for the grand prize of $1 million.
The show, hosted by Phil Keoghan, pits 11 teams, each comprised of two members, against each other on a trek around the world for approximately 25 days.
At every destination, each team must compete in a series of challenges, some mental and some physical, and only when the tasks are completed will they learn of their next location.
Teams who are the farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the contest progresses, with the first team to arrive at the final destination winning $1 million.
In the premiere episode titled, “Business in the Front, Party in the Back,” teams arrive in paradise where they find themselves skydiving from 10,000 feet in Bora Bora, and in an Amazing Race first; three teams throw in the towel during the first sweltering Roadblock of the season.
The Amazing Race premieres Sunday February 17th at 8:00 p.m. on CBS4.
