One Man In Custody After Florida City Police Involved Shooting

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – One man was taken into custody Monday night after he and another man allegedly shot at several police officers outside a Florida City home.

Around 8:45 p.m., Miami-Dade detectives went to a residence at 326 NW 8th Avenue to follow up on a Gun Bounty tip. As they approached the house, two men started shooting at them.

The detectives returned fire as the men took off on foot. No officers were injured. A perimeter was quickly set up.

A short time later, police received word that a 22-year old had gone to the hospital for a gunshot wound. Investigators quickly determined that he was one of the men who had been at the house, according to police.

The second man remains on the loose.

Investigators were able to recover two firearms from the outside of the residence. Police have not released the name of the man in custody.
