Fans Gear Up For Orange Bowl Game

MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) - The Northern Illinois Huskies are happy to be in a post-season bowl game, but playing Florida State in the Orange Bowl game, at Sun Life stadium, must feel like going into the lions deno to win the right,

When it comes to fired up fans....F-S-U has got it down to a science.

"f-l-o-r-i-d-a-s-t-a-t-e…florida state, florida state, florida state whoa!", they chanted as they tailgated before Tuesday night's game, virtually a home game for the Seminoles.

The Northern Illinois Huskies...well...they don't really have a "thing" like the "Chop" yet.

"We just got good, good support. I don't think we have any move at all like that," said one fan.

They do, however, have a finger thing they do.

"It's a husky," said Matt Crial, an NIU Huskie fan. "You see that way? a husky dog."

OK -- no need to get catty over the dog thing...especially when FSU is the heavy favorite and Seminole fans outnumber Huskie fans by about a zillion, not to mention they are a lot louder and are really talking some trash.

"I give them credit, but they're just not on our level to be honest with you," said one Seminole. "They're…it's going to be a massacre in my opinion. i think it's going to be a game you can't cut them out."

Those Huskies and their fans are scrappy though...and they're trying hard. Like the group, on the spot, trying to come up with a battle cry of their own.

"Here we go, 1-2-3. h-u-s-k-i-e-woof-s-woof-woof-woof."

Who knows they could be on to something. For now, we'll just have to see if the Huskie bark is more ferocious than the Seminole chop.
