Former Fin Joey Porter Arrested In California

BAKERSFIELD, Cali. (CBSMiami) – Former Miami Dolphins outside linebacker Joey Porter was arrested over the weekend in Bakersfield, California on a warrant for writing bad checks, according to the Bakersfield Californian.

Porter was pulled over for a traffic stop late Friday night and then taken into custody. According to the Bakersfield Californian, Porter was still in jail as of late Sunday night.

The former Dolphin has signed multiple contracts with teams totaling in the tens of millions of dollars over his 13-year career.

Porter played eight years for the Pittsburgh Steelers, three years with the Miami Dolphins and two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. The four-time Pro Bowl selection retired after last season.

While a member of the Dolphins, Porter pulled down 31.5 sacks before being released after the 2009 season.
