Woman Shot In Sunrise Church Parking Lot
SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – An area near Faith Center Ministries in Sunrise was cordoned off with crime scene tape after a double shooting.
The shots were heard around 1 p.m. in the 5500 block of NW 95th Avenue near Nob Hill Road.
Police confirmed that woman was shot in the parking lot of the church by a man they suspect was her ex-boyfriend. The woman managed to get into her car, with her 12-year old daughter, and drove off. She didn't get very far. The girl was not harmed.
The man then shot himself, according to police.
Both the man and woman were taken to a hospital where he died. Police have not said to what extent the woman as injured.
Police have not released the names of the man and woman and have not speculated as to what led to the shooting.
