Hugo Chavez To Return To Cuba For Cancer Treatments

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has announced that if his health continues to deteriorate, his successor will be Vice President Nicolas Maduro.

On Saturday Chavez said he would be returning to Cuba on Sunday to undergo another round of cancer treatment.

He recently left Cuba after spending more than three weeks there receiving treatments, but said recent tests showed the return of cancer cells.

This is the first time Chavez has mentioned the possibility that his health would prevent him from continuing his role as president.
