MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department is honoring veterans with a special offer.

From Saturday, Nov. 10 through Friday, Nov. 16, dog and cat adoption fees will be waived for all veterans (with proper ID).

Veterans can visit the Miami-Dade Animal Services Department, 7401 NW 74th Street, Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., or on Saturday or Sunday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Unlike private shelters that have limitations on the number of pets they accept, Animal Services accepts all dogs and cats. Each year the Department receives more than 36,000 pets.

The goal of Animal Services is to reunite lost pets with their families or find lifelong homes for as many animals as possible.

Visit the Miami-Dade Animal Services site.
