MIAMI (CBS4) – The CBS4 Mobile Weather Lab is a unique way to take the viewer to the bad weather.  Instead of waiting for thunderstorms or tropical storm squalls to arrive at a weather site, we now have the ability to meet the wind, rain, or extreme weather where it is happening.

The CBS4 Mobile Weather Lab is equipped with radar and satellite images, plus one of the most sophisticated weather instruments available.

The weather station part of the weather lab is able to precisely measure temperature, humidity, air pressure, and rainfall.  The wind sensor measures speed and direction using ultra sonic sound waves to track the movement of air particles and give extremely accurate wind measurements.

When the weather gets bad, expect the CBS4 Mobile Weather Lab to bring the viewer to the action, and warn everyone of how bad South Florida weather can be.
