After $43M Renovation, Rebirth Of Miami Beach Hotel Delayed
MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – A plush, 393-room hotel was scheduled to open Wednesday in Miami Beach. So what happened?
According to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald, the long-awaited debut of the James Royal Palm hotel in Miami Beach has been postponed.
The hotel is waiting on a final round of city inspections and a temporary certificate of occupancy, and no new date has been announced.
A spokeswoman says the renovations are complete and the 393-room hotel is ready for guests once the certificate is issued.
The hotel at 1545 Collins Ave. was originally supposed to reopen in mid-October after months of work. The storied property was purchased in April 2011 and underwent $42 million in renovations.
