DAVIE (CBSMiami) – Drivers heading south on the Florida Turnpike won’t be able to exit onto I-595 for the next three consecutive weekends because of construction.
The ramps will be closed so crews can complete the new direct connection bridge from the future I-595 express lanes and the turnpike median, south of the I-595 corridor.
Last month, construction crews completed the direct connection bridge between the future I-595 express lanes and the turnpike median, north of the I-595 corridor.
The southbound ramp closures will be from:
- 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22
- 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29
- 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4
During the closures, drivers who want to get on I-595 will have to exit at Sunrise Boulevard, head to US 441 and then south to the I-595. There are signs in place directing drivers to the detour.
