MIAMI (CBS4) – Hundreds of people took to the streets of Miami Monday in support of the blind.

Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez and members of the legally blind and visually impaired community walked from the Miami Lighthouse For The Blind headquarters through the streets of Downtown Miami t0 raise awareness about walkers using white canes to get around.

Florida law prohibits drivers from approaching crosswalks or intersections where a blind person is crossing using a cane or guide dog.
